Research skills on the internet for the learners of the 21st century(Link)BAUJune 14, 2012This study aims to shed light on the skills of the Twenty-First Century, specifically research skills on the Internet and its mechanism through the search engine Google, as well as how to Cite information resources according to the American Psychological Association (APA), and how to organize research due to the Big Six Theory . The study was based on the Case Study Approach and the Descriptive Statistics, to collect data through the questionnaire based on Thurston Scale that determined the students' use of those skills during their researches. The questionnaire consisted of three domains that included many open-ended questions. Fifty Six copies of the questionnaire were distributed on the students

of the Third secondary level students at Omar Ben El Khattab School; one of Al Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association in Beirut, for the academic year 2011/2012.The results indicated that the students of Socioeconomic section have used the assigned research skills through Google, more than the students of Life Science, and the students of General science. Moreover, the results show that both sections have the characteristics of the Twenty First Century Learners.In conclusion, the study proposed many recommendations to promote the concept of research skills among students in schools, so that they can enrich their ability to keep up- dated with the Twenty First Century Skills.
